Despite that, O'Connor was not pleased in the slightest with how he played but said that he will now take the win and move on to the next round.
'The Magpie' admitted that as a result he got embroiled in a game that he shouldn't have got embroiled in and that for him it felt like a 'glorified exhibition' almost.
"A lot of mixed feelings. I'm not happy with how I played at all. I expected Marko to play a lot better than he did, I expected to play a lot better than I had to but it is what it is, I'll take the win and move on," said O'Connor to LiveDarts.
"It should be a simple game of turning up and playing well no matter what. You should focus on what's ahead. I don't know why I got embroiled but I did but there is nothing I can do about it now so I've got to move on."
"It felt like a glorified exhibition to be fair, I didn't feel under pressure. I'm not sure what to make of it but I'll take it and move on."
