Eight spots remain to be awarded for the second round at the German Darts Open. Friday night are the final eight matches from the first round of the Euro Tour tournament in Jena.
Gian van Veen is the main attraction on Friday night in the match of the round facing former major winner Simon Whitlock. The 21-year-old Dutchman has been in some wonderful form as of late and given the scoring prowess and fan-friendly style of 'The Wizard' could produce an epic.
The evening session kicks off with a meeting between Stephen Bunting and Mickey Mansell, before Alan Soutar battles world's fastest darter Ricky Evans. Brian Raman then appears on stage for his duel against Nico Kurz.
Daryl Gurney takes on Steve Lennon, while the fifth match of the evening is between Florian Hempel and James Wade. Next on the schedule is a German clash between Daniel Klose and Ricardo Pietreczko. Gabriel Clemens then faces off with Luke Woodhouse.

Where can I watch the German Darts Open live?

This year, the Euro Tour tournaments will be broadcast by Viaplay for the first time. The afternoon sessions start at 1300 local time, 1200 BST, while the evening sessions start at 1900 local time, 1800 BST

How much prize money is to be won?

During each Euro Tour tournament, £175,000 in prize money is distributed. All qualifiers are guaranteed £1,250, while the top 16 players on the placement list at the German Darts Open will receive £2,500 anyway. However, these 16 players must win their first game in the second round for the prize money to actually count toward the world rankings and other rankings.
Per victory, the prize money earned increases. For example, the finalists already receive a minimum of £12,000. The winner of the tournament goes home with the top prize of 30,000 pounds.
