Gerwyn Price will now face off against James Wade in the semi-finals of the Grand Slam of Darts after seeing off Jonny Clayton in a hard fought win on Friday.
But for Price who is looking for his third title at the Aldersley Leisure Village this week, he wasn't pleased despite a 16-12 win saying it should have been a lot simpler.
"I'm 4-1 up, 5-1 up and I think after the second break, I should be 8-2 up same as the last time I played Jonny, I let him off the hook and give him that belief that he can still win and when he's won two three legs behind then he could possibly win. I should have blown him away early on," he said post match.
"Just keeping players in the game. Same with Bradley Brooks, Nathan Rafferty and I'm just letting people off the hook. That's why I'm not sharp anymore, I need to be playing a lot more."
Thoughts on Sherrock
He also discussed Fallon Sherrock and his disdain for comments made by Wayne Mardle about giving her a Tour Card as a result of her darting brilliance.
"She's been fantastic fair play. It's good for darts, it's good for the crowd but some things that Wayne (Mardle) says give her a tour card, put her in the Premier League. Is he nuts or what. I used to think he was a good commentator but sometimes he talks a load of rubbish."
