Price eases through to World Grand Prix Quarter-Finals with brilliant victory against Huybrechts

Gerwyn Price has eased through to the Quarter-Finals of the World Grand Prix in Coventry in a 3-0 win for 'The Iceman' against Kim Huybrechts.

Price hit a 95.4 average and two ton-plus checkouts en route as he swept past 'The Hurricane' in quick fashion.

The first set was a lot closer than the final two with it going to a deciding leg but Price took out 88 to claim first blood in terms of sets. Huybrechts replied to begin set two with a 109 checkout but that was his last leg of the match.

Price from there smashed in a 132 checkout on the bull to break and lead 2-1 and cleaned up the set from there with a 148 checkout for a 12-darter concluding the second.

From there, two 56 checkouts and a concluding 91 checkout on the bullseye saw Price through and he will now take on Jeffrey de Zwaan who similarly was prolific against Gabriel Clemens earlier in the night.
