Gerwyn Price was in superb form as he saw off Ben Robb 6-3 with a 105 average with only a few legs which he let slip towards the end between 'The Iceman' and an early statement at the New Zealand Darts Masters.
"I missed two darts to win the match 6-1, I must just like keeping people in the game but he played decent most of the game. Should have closed the game out 6-1 but sort of gifted him that leg and he had a wonder leg the next leg so thankfully I took out the 124 to win," said Price to Online Darts.
Next up is a familiar foe in James Wade and revenge is on the mind of the World Number One.
"I played really well two games before I played James (Wade) and then left him off. Scored really well, missed a load of doubles and I think first leg James took out a 140 and I think the game he won today, he took out 145.
"When you give him those sorts of chances, 9/10 he pings them. If my scoring game is there and I take my chances, I'll be quite comfortable but if I start missing doubles, it could be the same result but hopefully not."
Going back to ranking action next weekend, Price is looking forward to it and believes he gets more geared up for it compared to World Series.
"I love playing in the World Series and Premier League don't get me wrong but when it comes to ranking points, it's where I seem to dig deep and find my best game. I'll be looking forward to going to Europe and the World Series Finals. I'm missing one in Belgium, start balancing it a bit more."
