A well known figure on the PDC Tour and a regular title winner, it all began for
Damon Heta with a World Series title which promptly saw him move across the world to the UK.
Now based near Leicester, Heta though won't be a darts player for long he admits.
Speaking to The Darts Show podcast, it's about racking up money and being able to go back to Australia within 10 years.
"I feel like I've got a great base. I've done everything the right way to get to where I am at the moment and now it's all about pushing forward so I can go home as quick as I can and be with my family and friends.
"I don't want to be here for 20 years. I'd say the goal is 10 years time I've done what I've need to do, I could turn away from the sport and know I've accomplished what I've needed to do and I'd be happy."
If he was World Champion though, he wouldn't retire on the spot despite the 10-year plan.
"I think I'd be silly not to continue for the next two years as everything that comes with it is so big to turn down. Then I'd have to see.
"It's not just me, it's my wife. She's making a bigger sacrifice than I am and we'll see where we go when we get there.
But he has designs on at least one major before he does leave the sport.
"I'd say at least one major, that would be massive and not out of the realm. I've already got a Euro Tour, World Cup. That'd really top it."
