Rob Cross tips Scott Williams for major glory in the next two years: "The boys that good"

After emerging victorious from a brilliant matchup at the PDC World Darts Championship against his practice partner Scott Williams, 2018 World Champ Rob Cross is full of praise for his good friend. "In the next two years he's going to win a major."

In a top-quality tie, Cross picked up a 3-1 win in which every set went down to the deciding leg. Despite both players pushing a 100 hundred average for most of the match, Cross reveals he had expected even more from them both. "I probably expected it to be a little bit higher, considering we practice together but actually it was edgy," he says. "From both parties today there was too much respect there and there shouldn't have been."

Having told Dan Dawson earlier this year that he would not play in any unranked, invitational events, Cross has now seemingly U-turned on his decision after it was revealed he will be in Bahrain for the World Series of Darts. "I never practice in January and I haven't got any holidays booked," Cross said when questioned on the matter. "So I thought just go to Bahrain, catch a bit of sun and actually enjoy my life, so why not?"

Next up for Cross at the World Championship is a 3rd round tie with Mervyn King. "I get on with Merv," Cross says. "He'll tell me he's had a bad year and stuff but coming into here, whoever is on a bad run the World Championships is where it's all about. I've got to be on my game."
