Rowby-John Rodriguez has the aim during this year's PDC
World Darts Championship of joining his brother, Rusty-Jake on the tour next year with a few wins at the Alexandra Palace.
For Rodriguez, it was the best start possible as he swept aside Nick Kenny in a 3-0 sets win with a 97 average, three 180's and 43% on the checkouts. He will now face Luke Humphries in a quality second round tie.
Rodriguez led after a terrific opening leg which saw him hold on double six. Both exchanged 180's but Kenny missed three to hold and Rodriguez replied with double 10 for a 2-0 lead.
A 72 checkout sealed it for Rodriguez as he headed off stage confidently ahead.
A 65 checkout saw 'Little John' continue his dominant run with a break. Kenny missed double 16 for a 149 and Rodriguez pinned double 20 to consolidate.
Kenny missed bull for an 81 checkout but returned with Rodriguez unable to hit a 167 checkout.
He missed three more darts though only for Rodriguez to have a blip himself. Kenny helped himself to his first leg and a hold but Rodriguez began his throw with a 180.
A 98 checkout on double 12 saw Rodriguez make it 2-0 sets up. He took the opening leg and broke throw to go one away from the victory. A match dart was missed off 93 but he returned for double 16 to claim it.
