Another block of
Pro Tour action is in the ledger after
Players Championship 15, 16 and 17 were played out over consecutive days this week. After Luke Littler and Mike De Decker took the first two titles,
Josh Rock took victory at Players Championship 17.
En route to the final, Rock narrowly defeated
Ross Smith in the semi-finals, only taking victory in a deciding leg 7-6. Further proof of how well Smith is playing at the moment, is the fact that, in stats collected by
Premium Dart Data, the Englishman fired in the highest average of the day at Players Championship 17, that being a performance of 106.70.
Ryan Searle, who started this Pro Tour season so brightly, follows behind with both the second highest average of the day and the fourth, with
Luke Woodhouse, who struck perfection with a nine dart leg in a 6-0 thrashing of Richie Burnett posting the third highest average of Players Championship 17.
Development Tour star and losing finalist of Players Championship 15,
Wessel Nijman, completes the top 5, averaging a peak of 104.20. The likes of
Damon Heta,
Florian Hempel,
Cameron Menzies,
Gerwyn Price,
Stephen Bunting and
Jermaine Wattimena all also posted at least 102+ averages on another high quality day of darts in Milton Keynes.
