With Peter Wright now gone, Michael van Gerwen will fancy his chances even more of sealing a fourth World title but his quest will resume this evening with a tie against Mensur Suljovic.
A player aiming to return to his former glory, he will look to frustrate the Green Machine and cause an upset which will cause ripples further than Wright even did. While for MVG, a statement will be on the cards.
Joe Cullen again faces Damon Heta in a tie which saw a statement made by 'The Rockstar' during the World Matchplay in a tie that saw Heta as the favourite and Cullen took umbrage to that and thrashed him.
This time Cullen will look to live up to the billing against Heta who was superb in his opener against Adrian Lewis.
While finally Michael Smith, last year's finalist will face Martin Schindler who will look to join his World Cup teammate, Gabriel Clemens in the Last 16 against one of the favourites left for the title.
