We have arrived at the quarter-finals of the 2024
European Championship in Dortmund with a draw completely wide open going into the final day.
It is the seventeenth time the European Darts Championship has been held. Peter Wright crowned himself European champion for the second time in 2023 by beating James Wade in the final. Van Gerwen and Phil Taylor are the record champions at the European Darts Championship with both winning four titles.
First, it is Dirk van Duijvenbode who will make an attempt to qualify for the last four. After wins over Martin Schindler and Daryl Gurney, 'Aubergenius' faces Luke Woodhouse. 'The Shed' won over Ross Smith and Ryan Searle earlier in the tournament.
Gary Anderson was responsible for the elimination of Michael van Gerwen on Saturday, having also previously won over Stephen Bunting. Now 'The Flying Scotsman' will take on tournament sensation Ritchie Edhouse. The Englishman started his tournament with a 6-1 victory over Gian van Veen with an average of 109 and was then also too strong for former world champion Michael Smith.
Jermaine Wattimena surprised in the second round by sending James Wade home, having earlier defeated defending champion Peter Wright 6-0. The task now becomes even more difficult, however, as none other than reigning world champion Luke Humphries awaits at the last eight. Cool Hand Luke' recorded convincing victories over Nathan Aspinall and Jonny Clayton.
In the final match of the afternoon, it is Danny Noppert and Ricardo Pietreczko who will battle for a spot in the last four. Noppert previously eliminated Joe Cullen and Mike de Decker. Pietrezcko advanced to the quarterfinals at the expense of Damon Heta and Andrew Gilding.

Distribution of prize money
