On Friday evening, the last 16 countries at the
World Cup of Darts will be involved in Frankfurt aiming to reach the second round with England, Belgium and defending champions Scotland the leading lights.
Michael Smith and
James Wade are top seeds for England this year who face a difficult opening test in Czech duo, Adam Gawlas and Karel Sedlacek. Both have impressed at times in particular on the European Tour this season.
While
Dimitri van den Bergh and
Kim Huybrechts have both set their sights highly on finally sealing the title and will face Japan's Toru Suzuki and Tomoya Goto.
Peter Wright and
John Henderson face Hong Kong as they begin their title defence with Lee Lok Yin and Ching Ho Tung. Australia also starts their tournament on Friday evening.
Damon Heta and
Simon Whitlock face Lithuanian duo Darius Labanauskas and Mindaugas Barauskas.
