Former
World Cup of Darts winners in
Gerwyn Price and
Jonny Clayton started their campaign by seeing off Lourence Ilagan and RJ Escaros of the Philippines as they look to bring glory back to Wales.
"I think we've got a lot more in the tank. I think they were a good team especially the one lively guy (Ilagan), it sort of brought the best out of me but what confidence it gives you. I said earlier when I'm playing singles I'm up there on my own but I sort of thought my arm was freer today thinking this lad (Clayton) is behind me," said Price to Online Darts.
"I think we've probably got the best team in here so I think we can win it, we can get it back. Sneak it back off Scotland."
For Clayton after the disappointment of Monday's Premier League Darts, he has his sights firmly set like Price on bringing glory back to Wales.
"Monday is forgotten about but we're here to win that trophy back and I've got the best teammate in the world so we're here to win this and hopefully we can do it at the end of the week," said Clayton to Online Darts.
"It would be one of the greatest feelings ever to win it back. It's a different feeling obviously it's great to win any major but when you play with a teammate, it's something special. We're Welsh, we're a nation of proud sports people and to win a tournament together I think we have a team to be reckoned with."
