Scholten has no explanation for Van Gerwen's unrecognizable weakness: "There was no life in it at all

An unrecognizable Michael van Gerwen bowed out on Night 16 of the Premier League Darts following a defeat to Daryl Gurney. The Dutchman missed qualification for the play-offs for the first time in eight participations.

Roland Scholten, analyst at RTL 7, did not understand it at all. "We witnessed something special, I have never seen this with Michael. There was no life in it at all and it seemed as if he had been knocked out from the start."

"He has regularly had six turns, after which he was still not at a finish", Scholten continues. "In the beginning you think it will improve in the course of the game, but it just didn't work out."
