Sherrock tweeted at the time: "All I did was not win a game of darts, this is so wrong"; but as a result responded by edging past Boris Koltsov by one leg after four wins and one defeat on Friday.

“Wow. Very, very happy. Thank you to everyone who offered their kind words over the past 24 hours, these messages and winning today have made me very happy,” she tweeted after claiming victory.

This abuse was further highlighted later in the week with David Evans being targeted after the same person had previously sent abusive tweets to the likes of Michael van Gerwen, Daryl Gurney and Stephen Bunting; but especially in Sherrock's case, she has responded superbly and in winning fashion.
