Stephen Bunting qualified for the semifinals at the Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton on Saturday night. A handsome performance for a player who had yet to qualify for this tournament via the qualifying tournament.
'The Bullet' is only the fourth player in the history of the Grand Slam of Darts to advance from the qualifying tournament to the semifinals of the main tournament. Kevin McDine (2007), Simon Whitlock (2020) and Raymond van Barneveld (2022) preceded him. Incidentally, these three predecessors all failed to reach the final.
Bunting will play Rob Cross on Sunday afternoon in the semifinals of the Grand Slam of Darts. The other semifinal is between Luke Humphries and James Wade. The final of this tournament is on Sunday evening.
