Suljovic ahead of title defence at German Darts Masters: ‘I can't wait to play in front of the huge German crowds again‘

Mensur Suljovic is back to defend his German Darts Masters title in Cologne as the World Series returns this weekend.
Suljovic spoke of his memories of the tournament and said that it was a really special moment for him to win last year. He added that it was one of his highlights of his career so far.
In terms of this year, he said that he can’t wait to play in front of the German crowds again.
"I've enjoyed the German Darts Masters for the last two years and to win it in 2018 was a really special moment for me," said Suljovic. "It was a fantastic tournament and one of the highlights of my career.
"It would be special again this week if I was to win and I know it's very hard because it's the best players in the world. I can't wait to play in front of the huge German crowds again."

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024

If you want to see crowd passion... watch a match when German and Dutch players face off... that can be just as bad if not worse for crowd noises.
