Gerwyn Price has plenty of detractors, but he does have PDC legend Phil Taylor in his corner.

The 16-time world champion has leapt to Price's defence in a recent interview. Taylor, who himself had moments of oche eccentricity, does not see what the fuss is about when it comes to the Welshman's antics. The Iceman for a number of disciplinary breaches during and after the Grand Slam of Darts. The Power does not share the PDC's view of the Price furore. "Me personally, I don't see what he did wrong," said Taylor. "He's doing nothing different to any other player I've seen over the years. "Andy Hamilton, Michael (van Gerwen), Kim Huybrechts, they're all doing it. Even Gary Anderson, to a point, does it." The 58-year-old did not hold back when asked for his opinion on the fine levied against Price - the largest fine ever given to a professional darts player. "Disgusting," was his fiery response. "If I was Gerwyn, I would object, and I wouldn't pay that. "Not a chance. Not when other players are doing it, and getting away with it. "One hundred per cent, far too much.
