THROWBACK VIDEO: Lowe ends Bristow's World Championship winning streak with 1987 final win

With the BDO World Darts Championship not taking place for the first time this month due to the demise of the organisation, DartsNews takes a look back at some of the best moments and matches from over the years.

We head next to 1987 with John Lowe finally stopping Eric Bristow's Lakeside streak. 'The Crafty Cockney' had won the World title in 1984, 1985 and 1986 and was in the final again in 1987 as he aimed to make it a six World title.

But this feat failed to materialise as Lowe won 6-4 and finally became World Champion again after victory in 1979 and four runner-ups.
