Darts statistician Christopher Kempf investigated the most frequently thrown scores between the 1983 BDO and 2021 PDC World Darts Championship.
Besides the standard increasing, another interesting aspect emerged with players switching now more than ever.
During the BDO World Championship in 1983 in the early days of TV darts, 134 was scored 0.19% of the time. During the most recent PDC World Championship it was 2.77%.
Scores like 137, 99, 97, 96 and 93 have also gained a lot more popularity in a players mindset with for example in 1983, only 0.14% of the scores accounting for 93 points compared to 1.18% this past year.
