The year is 2013 with Ross Smith towards the peak of his powers and at the Gibraltar Darts Trophy he hit a historic nine-dart finish.
This nine-dart finish established the phrase coined by European Tour commentator Dan Dawson, the Curse of Ross Smith due to another not being hit for five years.
Years went by with the commentary team not getting drawn into the potential of a perfect leg till Michael Van Gerwen pinned it in Hamburg last year.
Now there have been multiple perfect legs on the European Tour but this one will stand as one of the most remembered especially going into this weekend where Gibraltar is next up.
