The semi-final line-up is confirmed at the
World Cup of Darts with England set to face Australia this evening and Wales facing The Netherlands.
This after the duo of
Michael Smith and
James Wade who had question marks as top seeds after limping over the line against Latvia yesterday eased past defending champions, Scotland 2-0.
They only dropped one leg en route to seeing off the duo of John Henderson and Peter Wright who will not recapture the magic from 12 months ago and it could finally be England's time to shine once more with the new look duo.
Smith led from the front as captain in his opener seeing off John Henderson without dropping a leg to get the first point on the board.
In doing so, he produced three 180's and 44.4% on the doubles despite an average of just 91 but it was ten points clear of 'The Highlander'.
Pressure was on Wright to force a pairs decider but after saying he'd put it right after losing to Madars Razma yesterday, James Wade did.
Despite only an average of 80, he pounced on a poor showing on the doubles from the World Number One who hit just 1/12 en route to defeat with Wade as usual taking his chances with 4/10 as he sealed the second point in a 4-1 win.
