Van den Bergh after whitewash win over close friend Durrant: "I was feeling a bit of heartbreak"

Dimitri van den Bergh went top of the Premier League Darts table after seeing off Glen Durrant in a whitewash win on Night Three.

Van den Bergh is known for his closeness to Durrant with both under the Mac Elkin managed stable, The Sportsman Management Company and he said he felt a bit of 'heartbreak' in seeing Durrant not at his best.

"I said before we had to play let's have a great game and I really wished him that as well. I meant it, I wanted to play a great game against him. In the first leg, we missed heaps of doubles and after that, he didn't really perform," said Van den Bergh post match.

"At the end of the day all I can say is that I've done my job, I've gave my best. I've fought in the mind, it was a mental struggle."

"I came down after I played the game to the manager that out of all the players in the building, I have to be the one that wins 7-0 against him. I was feeling a bit of heartbreak. He's a great person on and off the board."
