Van den Bergh on switch from Unicorn to Target: "I was no longer satisfied, it was time for something new"

Dimitri Van den Bergh recently switched darts manufacturers. The Dreammaker no longer throws Unicorn equipment and is now with Target.

Target also includes the likes of Phil Taylor, Raymond van Barneveld and Nathan Aspinall. "I am speechless, over the moon and very excited. I'm looking forward to the future. I am now part of Target, a huge name in the darts world. Great. Why am I making the switch? I was no longer satisfied at Unicorn. I let them know that several things needed to improve, but it never came to that. It was time for something new, because I want to improve," Van den Bergh told Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws.

Creative

Van den Bergh was also immediately given a new shirt, which also included his little daughter Oonah's name. "They are so creative at Target. They showed me several designs and this jersey stood out. The colour is rarely used in the PDC. I am also very proud that it incorporates the Belgian colours. My little daughter's name on my collar? That was at my request. I am treated like a king here."

The 28-year-old Belgian already exudes confidence. "Whether this is the perfect dart? It does feel like that at the moment. With my previous dart, I thought I lost my grip too quickly. Once I turn the dart in my hand and then it sometimes slid away. That is not the case with this arrow. It is very important that I can always throw in the same way. It will take some adjustment time, but at the World Championship I expect to be at the top. That's the big goal."
