Vincent van der Voort will start the upcoming PDC
World Darts Championship as 28th seed. For the 46-year-old Dutchman, it will be his 22nd participation in a World Championship.
Van der Voort is exempted in the first round and will next face the winner of the duel between Cameron Menzies and Diogo Portela. "Against Menzies I played once before, then I lost 6-5. He is one of those players who throws great one day and really nothing the next. If he has such a bad day against me it will be fine," Van der Voort laughed to Viaplay.
Same practice routine
Leading up to the World Championship, Van der Voort is not changing too much. "I'm maintaining the same practice schedule as through the year. After all, I don't believe it helps to suddenly start practicing much more now. In addition, above all I have to stay fit and healthy, for example, I do physiotherapy regularly."
