These three records were broken at the Players Championship Finals

The past edition of the Players Championship Finals created three new records. Michael van Gerwen won the tournament, but another Dutchman was mainly responsible for two new records.

Dirk van Duijvenbode threw a 112.05 average in his third round match against Ryan Searle, the highest match average ever at the Players Championship Finals. In doing so, Van Duijvenbode took over the old top spot held by Phil Taylor (111.58).

Van Duijvenbode's average also cased the highest combined average to be broken. With Ryan Searle throwing a 103.33 average, the combined average came to 215.37. That was a fraction better than the 2020 combined average 214.72 of Luke Humphries (107.60) and Jermaine Wattimena (107.12).

A record number of 180's were also thrown. In total, the crowd was able to stand up 376 times to celebrate a 180 score. The old record was 358, set in 2016.
