Van der Voort leaves no doubt about it: 'At the moment Wright is a lot better than Van Gerwen'

At the European Championship there was another title for Peter Wright, who also climbs back to second place in the world rankings. The question is then how big the difference is with Michael Van Gerwen, World Number One for years.

"At the moment Wright is a lot better, especially mentally. With his scoring ability and high finishes he continues to hurt opponents for a whole match. But Michael also has been okay, the last two TV tournaments he always ran into a player who just put in a top performance ", said Vincent van der Voort to RTL 7.

"The difference with the past is also that many players now think they have a chance against Michael, just because he performs so inconstantly. Still I think he can get back to his past form, but then he will have to work very hard in the coming months."
