Van Gerwen confident after phenomenal Cross win: "Things are starting to change"

Michael van Gerwen produced a brilliant win over Rob Cross on Night Three of the 2021 Premier League Darts seeing off 'Voltage' 7-3.

All of this was with a 107.5 average and four 180's as he produced a statement of intent with the highest average at that point of the Premier League season.

"Of course I'm happy. To win a game like this against Rob Cross, that's good for myself, good for my confidence. For a good game, you need two good players and in the beginning, Rob really pushed me. At one point, he made one mistake, he started the leg with 41 and I could take advantage of this," said Van Gerwen to Sky Sports post match.

This has meant that for Van Gerwen, his confidence has increased and he said he can see his luck changing as well.

"I can't complain better than last year. My goal is to try to win this Premier League. Things are starting to change. It takes some time, takes some doing and I think that's good for my confidence and my performance for the rest of the tournament."
