Michael van Gerwen saw off Daryl Gurney to claim his first World Series title of the year after receiving criticism in terms of his form.
Van Gerwen used the interview after his win to hit back at this and he said that no-one should doubt his talent after that.
He added that especially beating Anderson, Gurney and Wright shows he is very much the man to beat and a buoyant Mighty Mike wants to make it a double in Hamilton next week.
“Form is temporary and class is permanent, nobody should doubt my talent,” said Van Gerwen.
“To beat Gary Anderson, Peter Wright and then Daryl in the final it shows that I am still the man to beat and I want to make it two out of three when we go to Hamilton next week.”
