Michael van Gerwen failed to win the 13th round of the Premier League in Glasgow on Thursday night. Mighty Mike went down 6-3 in the final against Jonny Clayton.
Yet Van Gerwen was not dissatisfied afterwards. "Of course you want to win, for the Dutch fans and also for myself. But this final gives me the necessary points for the Premier League ranking and that is the most important. I'm in a very good position for the play-offs", Van Gerwen told Viaplay.
Family time
The 32-year-old Dutchman is already looking forward to the weekend. "Friday morning I fly home at 06:15. Then I want to spend some hours with my family, the weather is good and the pool is already outside. That way I can then go to the
European Darts Open in Leverkusen refreshed."
