Waites defeats Smith to claim PDC Home Tour Group 27 in clean sweep

Waites saw off Steve Beaton to begin the night with a 5-3 victory with a 97.4 and five 180s and he followed that up by seeing off Ron Meulenkamp in a 5-0 win with three ton-plus checkouts to boot.

Ross Smith who he saw off in the final game had won back-to-back games with victory over Steve Beaton in the latter in a deciding leg.

The equation was simple for Waites, he had to win the next game to complete a clean sweep. He did just that winning 5-2 with a 98.6 average and 5/5 on the doubles as he moved through to the next round.

Every evening, the four players will each face off; with each match being the best of nine legs. This group stage lasts 32 days with that amount of players set to reach the next round to play it out from there to crown a winner.

All players have webcams set up in their houses and say their scores out loud; to make sure that they can be inputted correctly without any cheating taking place.

With each night’s action commencing at 1930 BST, darts commentator Dan Dawson will be on hand to talk through proceedings; which will also include live score graphics on screen.
