Mark Webster was unable to be in Blackpool for the World Matchplay due to testing positive for Covid-19 so as part of his recent interview with Online Darts, he ran the rule over the top names.
This included Peter Wright and the potential for him to become World Number One in the future taking Gerwyn Price's spot.
"Peter Wright just wants to win the World title, the number one (spot) will come with it. But just win the title, he will want to tick off the Grand Slam, the World Grand Prix. He's always looking to improve. He's in a good space," he said to Online Darts.
From a potential World Number One to a former one, he discussed the current plight of Michael van Gerwen who is yet to win a title going into the ninth month of the year.
"Michael's still not the Michael we know but below par getting to a semi, you've got to use that as a positive and then it's up to the chasing pack. It's a crucial time of year, massive six months ahead."
"It's took some performances to beat him, he's not going out on a whimper. It's a bold statement from Peter (Wright), we keep saying Michael will start winning but he needs to start doing it soon."
