Australia saw off the Republic of Ireland who reached the final of the
World Cup of Darts last year in a superb victory.
It saw
Simon Whitlock and Damon Heta team up for the first time in a superb pairing who performed well in Salzburg and for 'The Wizard', he questioned why it isn't just pairs all the way through.
"Damon's playing amazing darts, I'm playing my best darts I think right now and it's just working for us and we're good friends," said Whitlock post match.
"I haven't even looked at the draw but I think I've got the best partner and I believe we're going to win this. We're gritty, we're both playing great darts and you know what form is showing."
"It's a pairs event, why are we even playing singles."
