Peter Wright won the
PDC World Darts Championship for the second time in his career on Monday night defeating Michael Smith 7-5 in the final.
A special achievement, especially given that in the past only five players have won two world titles in the PDC. Only two players have more than two.
The frontrunner in PDC world titles is, of course, Phil Taylor, who has won fourteen. Michael van Gerwen has three to his name. In addition to Wright, Gary Anderson, Adrian Lewis and John Part have also won the world championship twice.
