Zonneveld and Klaasen reach second round in Belgium

Niels Zonneveld and Jelle Klaasen have qualified for the second round of the Belgian Darts Open in Wieze, Belgium, on Friday afternoon.

Zonneveld won 6-2 against Alan Soutar in his first round match. Despite certainly not playing brilliantly in the opening stages, the Dutchman grabbed a 4-2 lead. After that, Zonneveld managed to step up a gear and closed with two 15-darters thanks to a 110 finish and 99 check-out. A match with world champion Peter Wright in the last 32 awaits him.

Klaasen dealed with home player Francois Schweyen. The former Lakeside champion triumphed 6-4 thanks to an average of over 92 and a finishing percentage of 35 per cent. Klaasen meets Dave Chisnall in the second round on Saturday.
