Andy Baetens advances to semifinals at Lakeside; Aileen de Graaf reaches last four at ladies' event

Andy Baetens has joined the last four in the men's tournament at Lakeside. In the quarter-finals, 'The Beast' won 4-2 in sets over Jonny Tata from New Zealand.

The Belgian managed to win the first three sets all 3-2 in sets, although the second set should have been for Tata. However, the New Zealand darter missed several set darts in that set.

The fourth set also went over the full five legs, but it was a winner for Tata thanks to a 76 finish. He then brought the tension back further by using an 11-darter to win the fifth set 3-2. Baetens, however, ensured a 4-2 final score by throwing a 14-darter, 160 finish and a 76 check-out in the sixth set.

In the ladies tournament, Aileen de Graaf managed to qualify for the semi-finals. She defeated Lorraine Winstanley 2-0 in sets. The first set went 3-2 to the Dutchwoman, after which De Graaf took the second set 3-0.
