Banks and Self live up to favourites tag at WDF Europe Cup Youth, Turkish winners in girls' pairs tournament

Thomas Banks and Archie Self won the boys' pairs tournament at the WDF Europe Cup Youth in Vienna. They lived up to their favourites tag by defeating a German duo in the final.

The two Englishmen won 4-0 over Connor Phillips and Ieuan Halsall at the last 16, but then came away well against Riley Rees-Tucker/Evan Wishart (4-3) and Rajmund Papp/Balazs Szotak (4-3). Then in the final, Banks and Self were too strong 5-2 against Alexander Steinmetz and Yorick Hofkens of Germany.

The girls' pairs tournament was surprisingly won by a Turkish duo. Zehra Gemi and Belinay Pelivan won 4-2 over Paige Pauling and Hannah Meek in the final, preventing another title for England.
