Gary Robson wins first WDF tournament in eight years

Gary Robson has won a WDF tournament for the first time in a very long while. 'Big Robbo' was the best at the WDF Scottish Open on Sunday, capturing his first title since 2016.

The 56-year-old Englishman, who played 18 times at Lakeside and reached the quarter-finals on three occasions, reached the final of the Scottish Open after victories over Gary Stone (4-3), Michael Busscher (4-3) and Jordan Brooks (5-3), among others. He was then too strong for Kieran Smith in the final, 5-4.

Also on the program on Sunday was the final of the Scottish Classic. Glen Parsons and Dave Prins had qualified for this final on Saturday. The final was eventually won 5-4 by Parsons.
