Cameron Menzies has started the WDF Lakeside World Championship well. Cammy defeated Englishman Ian Jones 3-1 in his opening game with an 89 average.
"I was fine the first couple of sets. I was nervous but I was on top but eventually nerves kicked in and I started giving it the big (one), I don't like doing that but it was just a big relief because it got nitty gritty, it wasn't great, he wasn't great. Every throw meant something, it was a release.
"It wasn't great but my god it was nerve-wracking, it was hard. Hopefully I'm not as nervous next time because I have not been nervous like that for a long time. I thought getting older, I'm getting to experience the bigger stages but Lakeside's got an aura about it."
For Menzies also he sees it as a freebie with Players Championship still entered into if he goes out early.
"We've got a freebie which is quite lucky for us because if we don't do well, we've got Players Championship next weekend."
