Taking place between 9-13 October 2024, the WDF World Masters which also features the WDF World Open and Lakeside World Championship qualifiers takes place in Budapest. The prize money is confirmed.
Returning for the first time since 2022 with the tournament taking a hiatus during 2023, it was last won by Beau Greaves and Wesley Plaisier who will both return to attempt to defend their titles.
One of the most prestigious tournaments in the darting world, it began in 1974. Albeit in recent years since the addition of the WDF after the demise of the BDO, it changed the format from setplay to legplay and also to a biennial format.
After taking place in De Bonte Wever in Assen back in 2022, it moved to Hungary this year to form part of a double header of majors with the WDF World Championship starting at the end of November.
Prior to the BDO demise, Martin Adams, Stephen Bunting, Michael van Gerwen, Glen Durrant and Krzysztof Ratajski were among notable winners. While Lisa Ashton won the prior two editions before Greaves in 2022 who will be the favourite to claim the title. The prize money though has remained the same.
The women's champion will take home €5,000 which has been the steady rate albeit in different currencies since 2018. While men's also stays the same with Plaisier winning €10,000 back in 2022. The same can be said for the 2024 winner with €35,000 on offer overall in the men's draw over the course of the weekend.
