Larry Butler has provided the first whitewash at the World Seniors Darts Championship. With nine legs in a row he defeated Alan Warriner-Little 3-0 in sets.
The difference between the two players was immense. The 64-year-old Butler played an excellent game with 89, while he spent much of the match throwing well over 90. An injured Warriner-Little averaged only 57.
Butler managed to hit two 15-darters in the first set and threw out 109 in the second set. The American then also led 2-0 in the third set and started the third leg with two 180-scores. He failed to hit a nine-darter, but a 17-darter secured the win. The 1994 World Matchplay champion will meet former world champion Keith Deller in the second round.
