Trina Gulliver may have lost to Martin Adams in the Quarter-Finals of the Champion of Champions but left with something bigger in the form of the Women's World Championship trophy that she won 10 times.
Recently put up for auction, she said that it was a shame that the history was going down the drain but was over the moon with the generosity of people to help get the trophy back in her possession.
"It's totally amazing, I'm just totally gobsmacked. I can't believe it, it's such a surprise. It's overwhelming to think that someone would do that for you, it's so special," said Gulliver to Online Darts.
"There's so much history in all of them, it's sad but it's out of everybody's control. That's what's happened but I'm just totally overwhelmed with the generosity of people, it's just fantastic."
