O'Shea sees off Ashton to reach Quarter-Finals at World Seniors Darts Masters

The next player through to the Quarter-Finals of the World Seniors Darts Masters is a Lakeside favourite in 'Silverback' Tony O'Shea who saw off four time World Champion, Lisa Ashton 4-2.

O'Shea will aim to erase the mixed memories of Lakeside over the years this weekend and started off well with an 84 average to see off 'The Lancashire Rose' and next up will be either Martin Adams or Wayne Jones.

Both shared sets to begin the tie with O’Shea though taking the early lead 2-1 with a 110 checkout to sweep the third set.

But Ashton levelled up albeit with her final set impressively producing a 17 darter followed by a 81 checkout for an 11-darter

O’Shea started to motor towards the finishing line though in the short format producing a 14-darter in the form of a 76 checkout to lead before sealing the set on double three.

It was a clean sweep from there with a 120 checkout followed by a 56 checkout to seal it and send Ashton out of the tournament in the first round.
