Last year saw Darren Herewini claim one of darts' biggest titles in the WDF World Cup Singles as he defeated former World Trophy winner, Peter Machin in the final in a New Zealand-Australia tie.
Herewini spoke recently on the Inside the
WDF Podcast about the feeling of winning the prestigious title.
"It was the best feeling of my entire career. It was something else. When I saw that last dart go in, I thought I was on top of the world," said Herewini on the Inside the WDF Podcast.
"I was the first male New Zealander to win any sort of World title. I think the last one to win it was a lady called Noeline Gear. That was back in 1997. It was good I couldn't wait to get home, I just wanted to run home but running 15,000 km is a long way."
