With the BDO World Darts Championship not taking place this month due to the organisation’s demise, DartsNews looks back at classic moments and matches throughout January from the showpiece event.
Prior to the 2004 BDO World Championship, Andy Fordham managed to make it to the semi-final on four occasions at the Lakeside but each time, this was his end point.
However, 'The Viking' made it to the final which proved pivotal as he went onto win it. After victories over Brian Derbyshire (3-0), Tony West (3-0), Darryl Fitton (5-4) and Raymond van Barneveld (5-4), he went onto deny Mervyn King once more.
