For the second time in a week, a prominent name from the darts world has passed away. Just four days after the passing of commentator, Nigel Pearson, former World Championship finalist Mike Gregory passed away on Tuesday.
Following the news, messages of condolence and memories of Gregory found their way onto social media.
Phil Taylor, James Wade, Paul Nicholson, Bobby George and Jamie Caven, among others, responded via Twitter.
Nicholson summed it up. "I do believe these past seven days can kindly f**k off! Another one of the darting family taken too soon. Rest in peace Mike."
Taylor who famously defeated Gregory in the Lakeside 1992 final took to Twitter to send his condolences.
"Sorry to hear that Mike Gregory has passed away. Thoughts go out to all his family at this sad time."

Sad news today that one of darts great champions has passed away. Mike Gregory was a prolific winner of TV titles between 1984 and 1995, including the World Matchplay, 2x News of the World and 2x UK Masters. Regarded by many as the finest player never to become World Champion.
