Last weekend, the first four tournaments of the Advanced Tour, part of the Junior Darts Corporation were completed. There were four different winners to note.
This year, the Advanced Tour comprises three weekends with four individual events each, with prize money of £10,000. Last weekend, 32 of the best juniors competed in the West Midlands. The opening tournament was won by Thomas Banks, who recently made it to the fourth round of the UK Open. In the final, Banks beat his compatriot Henry Coates.
In the second tournament, the roles were reversed and Coates took revenge on Banks in the semi-finals. In the final, he beat former Lakeside participant
Leighton Bennett 6-5.
Bennett then won the third tournament by beating Kieran Thompson 6-3 in the final. The fourth and final tournament of the weekend was a triumph for Jenson Walker, who beat Lewis Bell 6-3 in the final.
Walker also leads the Advanced Tour standings after the first four tournaments. The next four tournaments are scheduled on 22 and 23 April.
