Bennett aiming for experience instead of instant success: "I want to try and get a Tour Card before I'm 20"

Leighton Bennett lost out in the JDC World Championship final just before Christmas with Bradly Roes accounting for 'Boom Boom' after 15 missed match darts.

Bennett spoke to Tungsten Tales before Q-School to reflect on his 2021 as well as that match.

"The JDC I did quite well on there with the Advanced Tour. To be fair, it was the JDC I was mainly concentrating on last year to be fair, did quite well on the tours. I was gutted obviously losing the World final but it was my own fault for missing those doubles but hey ho well done to Bradly," said Bennett to Tungsten Tales.

"It's still a good day don't get wrong, it hurt obviously losing it because I wanted it so badly because I know what's at stake. It was good as I got to see backstage, what anybody doesn't really get to see except players and sponsors. It was good to be fair in a way, the practice room was brilliant. That's the place I obviously want to be."

Bennett didn't claim a Tour Card at Q-School but he is aiming for experience instead of instant success.

"I said to myself really I want to try and get a Tour Card before I'm 20. That's my target so I've got four years really. This year's all good for me because I've got all the experience now in Q-School, Challenge Tour and Development Tour. There's so much I can do."
