It's party time at the PDC World Darts Championship.

We'll be saying hello to Snakebite, but there are three first round ties to be completed first. There's also a 64-year-old making another World Darts Championship return, but first up are two players with a combined age of 48. Adam Hunt, the old man of 25, qualified at the last moment thanks to the PDPA Qualifiers. He plays Luke Humphries, who made his . This time around, he has qualified off the back of PDC Pro Tour form, and the European Tour has been a handy aid for much-needed experience. This one is tough to call on paper. Matthew Edgar, to all intents and purposes, shouldn't have even been here. But Corey Cadby's withdrawal gave Prime Time a chance to make headlines. He'll take a break from to take on Darius Labanauskas in the first round. The Lithuanian has made plenty of Lakeside visits, but this is a different kettle of fish. And the prize, aside from financial gain, is significant - possibly one last chance to meet Raymond van Barneveld at a World Championship.

Off on the Wright foot

Van Barneveld may be off, but Paul Lim might well be around forever. The Singapore Slinger was at his best last year. First there was the thrilling win over Mark Webster, and then that hair-raising nine-darter attempt against Gary Anderson that fell just short. His first round foe knows something about perfect legs. Ross Smith's nine-darter even carried a curse, until Michael van Gerwen stepped up and ended a long European Tour drought. Smith, through no fault of his own, will have the crowd against him here. Lim is just too big a draw.
Peter Wright did not enjoy his winter last year. There was a lengthy battle with illness, with the Scot only just making it to London. He was quickly sent packing too, by the remarkable Jamie Lewis. A year on, he's back again. 2018 wasn't a massive success for Snakebite; a Champions League and Grand Prix final were the highlights. First up is Toni Alcinas not a terminal threat but a definite banana skin. Wright's first step towards progression through a very open bottom half of the draw is avoiding any unnecessary complications here.
