Richard North like so many so far at the PDC World Championship had to come from behind to see off his respective opponent in this case Robert Marijanovic.

Afterwards he spoke to Live Darts of how pleased he was to win what he called a cracking game as well as about how his family and friends helped get him back into the tie.
“It was a cracking game and I’m well happy to win it. Robert (Marijanovic) played brilliant there and I’m happy to get over the line.” said North.
On what was going through his head when he went two-nil down he owed his return to the foray in the match to his family and friends who gave him encouragement.
“At one point my head did drop, I was walking off at two sets to nil down and looked over at my wife, my friends, my practice partner Sid and my head dropped and they said come on you’ve only lost the sets 3-2 just push on.
“If it wasn’t for my wife and friends I would have gave that game up I reckon so I’m happy to get through it.” he added.
North also spoke about his finishing and admitted it could have just been nerves and him underestimating his opponent.
“I think it was just nerves of the first round really and truthfully I didn’t expect Robert (Marijanovic) to play that well, I thought he might be a bit nervous as well but he didn’t show none of that. Towards the end of it he let me back in but at the beginning he was excellent on his finishing.”
